Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center sits at 1000 Blythe Boulevard and shares its medical corridor with Levine Children’s Hospital, Levine Cancer Institute and other Atrium facilities. The Pearl is just north of this campus near Midtown and Second Ward.

Dilworth

Dilworth is one of the easiest places to recommend for CMC employees who want an established residential neighborhood without giving up proximity to work. Historic homes, townhomes, mature streets and access to Freedom Park make it especially attractive for buyers who want more neighborhood character than a downtown condo environment.

Midtown and Kenilworth

For pure convenience, Midtown and the Kenilworth Avenue corridor are hard to beat. These areas sit between CMC, The Pearl, Metropolitan shopping and Uptown, with a growing mix of condos, townhomes and infill housing.

South End

Best Neighborhoods Near Novant Health Presbyterian

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center is located on Hawthorne Lane in Elizabeth. The hospital is also directly served by Charlotte’s CityLYNX Gold Line, which connects Elizabeth with Uptown and Historic West End. 

Elizabeth, Chantilly and Plaza Midwood

Elizabeth offers perhaps the most convenient residential setting for Novant employees, with historic homes, townhomes and walkable pockets around Elizabeth Avenue. Nearby Chantilly provides a quieter residential feel, while Plaza Midwood offers more restaurants, nightlife and newer infill options.

Myers Park and Eastover

Healthcare professionals looking for larger established homes often expand south toward Myers Park and Eastover. These neighborhoods also offer convenient access to Atrium Health Mercy on Vail Avenue and the broader Randolph Road medical corridor.

Working at a Hospital Outside Central Charlotte?

Not every healthcare relocation needs to center on Uptown. Atrium Health also operates major campuses in Pineville and University City, while Novant has hospitals in Matthews and Huntersville. Someone assigned to Atrium Health Pineville may find Pineville, Quail Hollow or Ballantyne much more practical than Dilworth, while North Charlotte healthcare employees may prefer Huntersville or University City. 

One Important Tip for Healthcare Buyers

Test your commute during your actual shift-change window. Charlotte traffic at 7 a.m. can look very different from an afternoon showing, and easy access to Kings Drive, Kenilworth Avenue, Independence Boulevard, I-277 or I-77 can matter more than being a few miles closer on a map.

The Pearl itself is also evolving. A 382-unit residential tower, Anova The Pearl, is expected to bring the district’s first apartments in 2028, meaning buyers relocating today will generally be looking to surrounding neighborhoods rather than living directly within the innovation district.
